Hi.

I hope this blog encourages you and opens your mind to live freer than you ever though you could be.

Learning To Be Content

Learning To Be Content

The cold wind whistles through the trees

Leaves gone

Branches broken and bent

I long for summer breezes light

Warm sun

Under a canvas tent

Hot oppressive sidewalk heat

Tempers flare

Money spent

I wish for a log mountain cabin

Simple life

Fires started by flint

The icy snow blocks my door

Isolated Alone

I need to vent

I dream of a party and friends

Joy and laughter

Stories and time spent

It’s crowded and disingenuous here

Loud and fake

Please get the hint

I need the ranch and horses

Outside time

That’s what I meant

Feeding, Fixing, Folding gets old

The cows are up

Now my car has a dent

Europe is the life

Vacation forever, every day

Meeting a new lady and the gent

Homesick for familiar

I travel miles barely remembering

where I went

To my own house

To the ones I love

Learning to be content

Philippians 4:11-13ESV

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Hebrews 13:5ESV

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

1 Timothy 6:6-8ESV

Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.

Matthew 6:31-33ESV

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Psalm 16:8-11ESV

I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

1 Timothy 6:6ESV

Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment,
