loving and warm
held the baby to her heart
as she cooed and whispered
words of love
the world began to start.
soft and sweet
stroke the little head
as she weaves a tale of childhood
before putting him down for bed.
skilled and sure
make pot roasts,
- endlessly endure.
folded, she would say,
“Daddy and I have worked and saved
so that we wouldn’t be a burden someday.”
the one she can feel
the one we hold
across her lap
across the years
across generations of laughter and tears
-now her cross to bear…
reaching for her Savior
as she breathes her last breath
and is ushered into a “marvelous” place
where there is no more sin or death.
clap with joy
as she thinks of you and me
while greeting loved ones near and dear
With eyes that now can see.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
